Viagra:
Analysis of the notion that Viagra is the magic pill for the future
The
statement that ‘Viagra is the magic pill of the future’
is something that comes through as a rather mediocre statement when
considering the actual implications of the drug. Take into consideration,
for instance, the fact that ‘faith in Viagra as a magic pill
is actually harming relationships’.
This
is something that is particularly due to the fact that sex isn’t
wholly an act of physical fulfillment; indeed, it is ‘an
interpersonal process that involves more than intercourse and sex
organs’. Viagra, on the other hand,
tends to propose the idea of sex brought on by chemical stimuli
rather than emotional stimuli, something that is inevitably corrosive
to the idea of sex as a spiritual bonding.
It
is apparent, therefore, that though the use of Viagra as a means
of rekindling sexual passion that has been dead, it cannot
be looked to as the idealistic magic pill of the future. Indeed,
it would be conclusively apt to consider that experts should work
on perfecting a drug that functions differently.
One
that slows down or eliminates the eventual deterioration of the
nerves and hormones responsible for sexual pleasure and performance
rather than one that invigorates nerves and hormones that are lacking
and/or inadequate, for instance, would be effective. This is since
this would put an end to most of the moralistic and philosophical
controversies that surround the idea of using Viagra.
