Viagra:
Does intake of the drug help build the male ego?
Speaking
in a logical context, it is quite apparent that the [self] administration
of the drug would indeed be boosting to the make ego in the case
of its ensuring exceptional sexual performance. This is something
that is accentuated quite strongly when considering it in light
of the fact that males tend to be exceptionally sensitive about
issues of sexual virility.
One
of the prime reasons for this sensitivity, it is important to consider,
lies in the fact that the [wide] cultural belief holds that healthy
young men are ‘supposed to be able to perform on demand’.
‘The
very fact that men are expected to want sex virtually all the time
can be one reason for a reduction in desire’. And while
the common idea yields that men are more interested in sex than
women, ‘the fact is many men are intimidated by their wives'
desire’.
It
is barely surprising, thus speaking and considering the obvious
implications of the prevalent cultural conceptual traits in concern
to male virility, which men tend to be affected with uncharacteristic
gravity when it comes to issues of sexual potency.
It must be considered that while men are intimidated by their wife’s
desire (s), an inadequacy to fulfill these desires would understandably
leave a male ego deflated.
It is apparent, therefore, that the use of Viagra would
indeed be boosting to the male ego. This is especially
emphasized when considering that culture itself renders the idea
of virility to be a conventional icon of masculinity.
This
is not, however, something to be taken for granted as the issue
of ego based on sexual performance must be deal emotionally rather
than physically.
